Nothing says spring like sun tea and lemonade, but since it’s February and there’s an absence of UV rays in many places, we’re adding a bit of bourbon to this classic summer mocktail to heat it up just a bit. As the days begin to warm over the next few weeks, take one of these super easy concoctions out to the porch with your favorite book or your favorite friend, wrap up in a cozy blanket, and let Punxutawny Phil know that he can kiss your glass.
The Grooming Box:
2 black tea bags
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 ounce bourbon (ish…but who’s measuring?)
3 teaspoons honey
1 large sprig of mint
A couple of drops of vanilla to taste
The Hack:
Add the teabags, mint, vanilla and honey to one cup of very hot water and steep for 5-7 minutes. While the tea steeps, mix the bourbon and lemon juice in a large heat-proof glass (we like Ball jars). Fill to the brim with ice (extra large ice cubes are best), then top with the tea mixture. Stir, garnish with a mint leaf and a slice of lemon, and enjoy!
